SMC Selected for Rochelle Elementary School Project

August 11, 2011 – SMC is honored to have been chosen this week by Rochelle Elementary School District 231 as the construction manager for their new school building. Construction on the 70,000 s.f. structure will begin in the spring of 2012.

McHenry Community Health Center Project Update

August 8, 2011 – The McHenry Community Health Center project is in its finishing stages and is on schedule for a September opening. This is about a month earlier than was anticipated at last April’s groundbreaking and is testament to the teamwork of the job’s participants. SMC strives to bring project owners the best value for their construction dollar by fostering cooperation and goal-focus for all parties; including the owner, design professionals, contractors and suppliers.

Kishwaukee College Project Update

August 1, 2011 – Work continues at a very fast pace at several projects on the campus of Kishwaukee College in Malta, Illinois. The Infrastructure Improvement segment of the work is largely finished and the new Student Services Center building is solidly underway. The new Campus Operations Building is set to start shortly, with major renovation of existing buildings scheduled for 2012. These are all part of an extensive facilities expansion program by Kishwaukee College with a total project cost of $67 million.

LivingWell Cancer Resource Center Construction Begins

July 22, 2011 – Work got underway this week on the new LivingWell Cancer Resource Center building in Geneva, Illinois. This 15,000 s.f. wood-frame and masonry structure will allow the Center to greatly expand its services to people facing the most challenging of health issues. The space will include counseling rooms, a resource center, a demonstration kitchen, exercise area, multi-purpose space and a community room.

April 8, 2011 – The groundbreaking ceremony for the new $1.8 million McHenry Community Health Center was held today. This is a new Federally Qualified Health Center which will begin operating in October of this year. Shales McNutt Construction was selected as Construction Manager because of our extensive experience in the health industry delivering projects on-time and under budget.
