Bob and Edna Meadows Regional Cancer Care Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony November 13, 2008
Shales McNutt Construction was pleased to be the contractor for Provena Saint Joseph Hospital’s Bob and Edna Meadows Regional Cancer Care Center. The facility was completed in October, two months ahead of schedule, and opened its doors on the evening of November 13, 2008 to welcome the friends that made the facility possible. Food and drinks were served as guests enjoyed tours of the facility and words of gratitude before watching the cutting of the ribbon.
Provena Saint Joseph Hospital CEO William A. Brown recognized the many partnerships necessary for the facility’s success. He thanked Shales McNutt, the subcontractors, the volunteers, the employees, the community and especially the Meadows family for their generous contributions that will surely change the lives of many. Each of the speakers noted the serene backdrop the new-state-of-the-art facility provides that will add immeasurably to the emotional and physical care of patients.
SMC provided design-build services for the facility’s successful completion. The project team, composed of Darren Thibert, Steve Hendrickson and John Shales worked closely with Vasilion Architects and Provena Saint Joseph Hospital to complete the facility ahead of schedule and under budget. The facility officially opens for treatment January, 2009.
