Pingree Grove Ribbon Cutting
On September 9, 2008 SMC joined members of the Pingree Grove Police Department, the State's Police, Burnidge Cassell Associates (BCA), the Village President and friends to welcome Pingree Grove's first full-service police station. The "dynamic duo" of SMC and BCA were thanked at the ceremony for completing the project on time and within budget.
Chief of Police Carol Lussky expressed her pride and excitement for the new facility that was truly built with the future in mind. Electric car hook-ups, a recycling room, energy efficient mechanics and even door security systems that utilize man-made energy are evidence of the steps the Village, BCA and SMC have taken towards a sustainable future for the facility. The facility was designed to acquire a LEED certified status, and the facility is on track to meet that goal.
At the ceremony, SMC Project Executive John Shales, Senior Project Manager Ron Barrick and Superintendent David Zipoy were thoroughly thanked. Lussky commended Dave Zipoy for his dedication and "dawn to dusk" oversight of the project. The ceremony included a flag dedication by the Hampshire American Legion Post #0680 and the cutting of the ribbon by Village President Wyman "Clint" Carey and Chief Carol Lussky before opening the doors to guided tours and a celebratory lunch.
The Village of Pingree Grove is excited for this new chapter and SMC is proud to be a part of the Village's progress.
